I should start this off by saying, I am NOT a fitness guru..

I love the idea of fitness and staying healthy and for the most part I am pretty good at it! Except for the whole getting to the gym. I 99.9% of the time end up doing small workouts in the confines of my home or outside time and again!

This whole post may sound really funny to those who have a strict gym routine, but for the others who can’t seem to find enough hours in the day you will completely understand! haha P.S. I will be spilling all about my new favorite leggings at the end of this post! Plus a discount code!

Squats are your best friend

I am not even kidding when I say this! Squats are my go to workout, and no I do not mean squatting weights I just mean doing tons of reps in the house while watching TV or cooking. Easiest workout to do while you are trying multitask! The other reason squats are so great is the fact that you can easily change it up to make them beneficial. Move the position of your feet, hold the squat longer, or use weights when you can finally get to the gym! To mix it up I add wall sits.. trust me those will BURN if you are doing it right!

That moment when you’re trying to get a good shot of doing squats and instead it looks like you’re dropping it low HAHA

I refuse to run long distances

I am not the running type nor will I ever be, SOO I like to jog up and down stairs instead. You would think it is the same thing, but for some reason I can keep control of my breathing better while doing this opposed to running. This is something you can easily do at home, in the park, or even in your dorm for all the college students reading this! (yes I did actually do this while living in dorms my freshman year..) Just like the squats there is always a way to change this up to progress. Pick up the pace, lift your legs higher, or hold some small weights to keep yourself challenged!

Stretch it out!

Easiest and probably the most important thing to remember is to stretch! I tried yoga a few years ago and just recently started realizing that I need to try it again and work it into my routine. There is something about stretching that keeps me relaxed, but can also feel like a workout. This keeps me from pulling muscles daily, I walk way too fast for my own good and have pulled muscles this way many times..not fun! So I started stretching in the morning which is also an awesome way to wake up(while the coffee is brewing of course!)

Finally on to these leggings!

I partnered with Avadi Products to show off these new compression leggings that I am IN LOVE with! They are thick material that doesn’t show everything like some leggings (we have all been there), they are bold, which is exactly what I need for the summer, and THOSE TIE DETAILS!!! Contrary to my immediate reaction they were actually super easy to tie and get right the first time around, but there is a helpful video on how to tie them on the Avadi Products Facebook page in case you need some help!
