Okay I realize it is now a month after Fashion Week but..
Life has been a whirlwind since! I do not think I have fully stopped to catch my breath since leaving for New York a month ago. So forgive me for the delay, and enjoy the photos Alex and I captured in a short recap of the shows we attended!
Like I have previously talked about, we only attended a handful of shows in our three day time span and I would not change that for my first Fashion Week experience. I am going to highlight some of our favorites and of course show off the best captured photos, because let me tell you it is hard to get the best shots when you are battling others holding their own cameras and phones while the models are walking haha!
The very first show we attended was Sechs Element
This show focused on sustainable fashion. I loved seeing the sustainable pieces and I am happy to say I did after sitting in the cab for a half hour thanks to traffic, oh New York haha! Sadly Alex and I did not capture any good photos of the garments due to trying to figure out the best settings and so on with this being our first event..whoops!!
This show had me wishing I had some gala to go to or could relive prom because every detail on these gowns were stunning. All of the beading and fringe had me swooning!
Now onto my personal favorite..
This show was absolutely captivating with the lace and embroidery, such romantic details! I recently talked about this in an article that was featured in the local paper on my NYFW trip, but I will say it again, I could see myself or others wearing these pieces without feeling too outlandish like some styles you may see on the runway! The Vietnamese designer Minh Le was going for timeless pieces that were made to make you feel confident and have you wearing a classic piece you can be happy in, in my opinion she succeeded!
Every piece of clothing I saw while attending Fashion Week was stunning and really lit a fire in me when it comes to my love for fashion. NYFW was my wake up call that I am doing something right and I hope you all have loved seeing a small glimpse into what it was like to be there! I had no intentions on planning to go in February due to my hatred for winter weather conditions, but I can say that my views have changed and if I have the chance to go I will most definitely be taking it!
